Cookie Policy
This policy explains cookies and related browser technologies that may be used when visiting the Whitlock Capture website on Shopify. The custom website sections are designed without added advertising trackers, analytics scripts or a custom persistent tracking identifier.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file placed in a browser by a website or service. It can help a site remember information between page requests, maintain a session, support security or record a choice. Some cookies expire when the browser session ends; others remain until their set expiry or until removed.
Related technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels and similar browser mechanisms. They can serve different purposes and should not be assumed to be necessary simply because they are technically available. This policy uses the term browser technologies when discussing them together.
2. The custom Whitlock Capture sections
The supplied custom sections use ordinary page links, a navigation menu, reveal animations, a review slider and a browser-based project request dialog. These functions do not require custom cookies, local storage, session storage, advertising pixels or a visitor analytics identifier.
The request form checks mandatory fields and displays an acknowledgement in the current page. It does not transmit form values to us or store them persistently. Image assets and the supplied font files should be hosted through the store’s own Shopify file library. The sections do not require an external font request to Google.
Your browser may remember form details through its own autofill or session restoration features. That behaviour belongs to your browser settings and is separate from a cookie added by the custom sections.
3. Essential hosting and security technologies
Shopify and the live theme may use technologies necessary to serve pages, maintain security, protect against automated misuse and remember choices required for a website function. If commerce features are enabled elsewhere in a store, those features may introduce additional session or transaction technologies.
The custom request interface does not create a shopping cart, process a payment or create an account. Technologies used by other Shopify features should be assessed in the context of the actual live configuration, rather than inferred from this interface.
Essential technologies are generally used to provide a function you request or protect the service. Blocking them in the browser may affect that function. Whether consent is required for a particular technology depends on its purpose and the applicable rules.
4. Optional analytics and marketing
The supplied sections do not install optional analytics or marketing tools. If the store owner later enables analytics, marketing integrations or third-party apps, their technologies, purposes and recipients must be disclosed and configured appropriately before use.
Where consent is required, optional technologies should not activate before the relevant choice is made. Rejecting optional tracking should not prevent access to the ordinary service information and local request interface. A visitor must be able to change or withdraw an optional consent as required by law.
This policy does not grant blanket permission to install unspecified tools. A newly added advertising pixel or analytics app changes the website’s information practices and requires review of both the configuration and the wording presented to visitors.
5. Categories and actual inventory
The useful categories for a live store are essential functionality and security, preferences, analytics, and marketing. A specific cookie’s category depends on what it actually does. A name alone does not establish that the cookie is essential.
A complete live-store inventory should record the technology name, provider, purpose, category and lifetime. It can change when Shopify features, theme settings or apps change. Since these custom sections do not control every part of Shopify hosting, this document does not invent a fixed list of provider cookie names or expiration periods.
Before publishing, the store owner should inspect the actual website with its installed apps and consent settings. If a technology is present, its classification and disclosure should match its observed purpose and the relevant provider documentation.
6. Managing preferences in Shopify
Where a Shopify customer privacy banner or equivalent preference interface is enabled, use that interface to accept, reject or change optional categories. The live store’s privacy configuration must connect the visitor’s choice with the actual tools enabled on the store.
The supplied custom sections do not add a second decorative consent banner that would fail to control Shopify or app tracking. Consent settings for the platform and third-party integrations must be configured in the store’s customer privacy settings and any applicable app controls.
If no optional tools are enabled by the store owner, the custom sections themselves do not need a consent preference in order to animate content or display the local form acknowledgement. Contact us if you need help locating the applicable privacy controls on the live website.
7. Browser controls and privacy signals
Most browsers let you view and remove stored cookies, block third-party cookies or restrict storage for particular sites. Follow the instructions in your browser’s privacy or security settings. Private browsing can limit persistence, but it does not prevent every technical request made while a page loads.
Deleting cookies can reset remembered choices and sessions. Blocking all storage may impair platform features that depend on it. You can generally continue to read the supplied service content and use in-page links without an optional marketing cookie.
Where applicable law requires recognition of an opt-out preference signal, the live store and affected integrations must be configured to honour it. The custom sections do not override those signals or use a separate identifier to bypass a visitor’s privacy choice.
8. Third-party applications and changes
An application added by the store owner may load content or browser technologies outside the control of these custom sections. Installing, removing or changing an app can alter the actual inventory. Providers may also change their technology names or lifetimes.
Review enabled tools after a configuration change and update the policy when the purposes or categories materially change. Do not describe a store as free of analytics or advertising technologies if the theme, platform configuration or an installed app activates them.
9. Relationship to personal information
Some browser technologies can be linked to an individual or device. The Privacy Policy explains the handling of personal information in connection with the website and actual client projects. Cookie choices and general privacy rights are related but are not identical.
Questions about a stored browser identifier can be sent to the email below. Include the page involved, the browser used and the technology name if you know it. Do not send passwords, complete payment details or unrelated personal documents to help identify a cookie.
10. Updates and questions
This policy is effective and was last updated on October 5, 2026. We may revise it when hosting features, app configurations, optional tools or applicable requirements change. The version date will be updated when a material revision is published.
